SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A man from Washington could also spend time in federal prison for killing a motorcyclist on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Friday Giles Hulsmann pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

In 2022, Giles Hulsmann was driving from West Virginia to Washington state.

He got lost near Pine Ridge, and claims to have had a panic attack, which caused him to drive faster and faster, forcing several cars off the road.

His convertible crossed into oncoming traffic. That’s when he hit and killed motorcyclist 61-year-old Lance Hunter.
