Boro striking starlet George Miller has completed a one year loan switch to Bradford City.

The highly-rated second string hitman, 20, has made the move to the League One Bantams to get vital first team action.

Bradford are facing the exit of main marksman Charlie Wyke with the in-demand former Boro Academy frontman wanted by Sunderland, Peterborough and Bolton to help fill the gap.

And as he reshapes his frontline, City head coach Michael Collins is delighted to get Boro man in before the season starts.

“George was exceptional last season at a very young age in a Bury side who were fighting for their lives,” said Collins.

“His infectious attitude to hard work will be a huge factor for us and he has clearly demonstrated he knows how to score goals, so we are delighted to welcome him into the club.”

Hot shot striker Miller joined Boro from Bury on a three year deal last summer after catching the eye with eight goals in 31 games for the Shakers.

Bolton-born Miller was later loaned out to Wrexham and then back to Bury for the second half of the season where he rattled in eight goals in 19 games and scooped the League One player of the month award in February.

The Shakers were relegated but Miller’s energy and eye for goal alerted clubs at that level.

Initial talks between the clubs took place last week and Miller sat out as Boro under-23s ran riot in an 8-0 win away at Bishop Auckland on Saturday as the mooted move took shape.

Meanwhile Boro have also agreed a loan movement for another Academy striker with Luke Armstrong signing for non-league outfit Gateshead.

Armstrong, 22, the song of former Boro striker Alun, was initially released as a teenager but a sizzling spell at Blyth Spartans earned him a second crack at Rockliffe.

He impressed with three goals during the Under-23s Checkatrade Trophy campaign last season.
